Hospital checklist
It’s essential to pack your hospital bag before you give birth. You might spend one or two nights at the hospital (or more if you end up having a C-section) and will need to be prepared.
Here are some items you should pack in your hospital bag:
- Shampoo, deodorant, hairbrush and toiletries
- Your insurance card and documents required by the hospital (ask in advance)
- Socks, comfortable shoes and slippers
- Comfortable and loose fitting clothing
- Pajamas
- Nursing bras (if you plan on breastfeeding)
- Chargers (computer, phone, Ipad, etc)
- Camera (to take lots of pictures of your new bundle of joy)
- Books, magazines or iPad for entertainment
- Light snacks
- Baby diapers (if your hospital does not provide them)
- Pacifiers
- Baby bottles (if you will not be breastfeeding)
- Pajamas and underwear onsies for baby
- HAts for newborn
- Coming home outfit for your baby
