Hospital checklist

It’s essential to pack your hospital bag before you give birth. You might spend one or two nights at the hospital (or more if you end up having a C-section) and will need to be prepared.

Here are some items you should pack in your hospital bag:

  • Shampoo, deodorant, hairbrush and toiletries
  • Your insurance card and documents required by the hospital (ask in advance)
  • Socks, comfortable shoes and slippers
  • Comfortable and loose fitting clothing
  • Pajamas
  • Nursing bras (if you plan on breastfeeding)
  • Chargers (computer, phone, Ipad, etc)
  • Camera (to take lots of pictures of your new bundle of joy)
  • Books, magazines or iPad for entertainment
  • Light snacks
  • Baby diapers (if your hospital does not provide them)
  • Pacifiers
  • Baby bottles (if you will not be breastfeeding)
  • Pajamas and underwear onsies for baby
  • HAts for newborn
  • Coming home outfit for your baby
